A newly built spec home on the Venetian Islands, part of Miami, Florida, is coming to the market for $18.5 million Tuesday, Mansion Global has learned.
Developed by Miami-based real estate veterans Eduardo Otaola, Rodrigo Diaz and Eduardo Lucca, the house sits on a 16,000-square-foot parcel with 100-feet linear bay frontage, which the developers bought in 2015 for $4.8 million.
“We wanted to build a house customized to the oversized lot,” Mr. Otaola said. “We invested a lot of money into the design and execution of the central courtyard, around which the whole house flows.”

The outdoor foyer features an aquatic atrium, a glass elevator and a 22-foot green wall that reaches the entire three-story home, which is clad in all natural materials, including large slabs of marble and limestone.
The 9,288-square-foot home on North Venetian Drive, which was designed by James Wall of Thirlwall Design and completed last week, features a 19-foot front door, 11-foot ceilings, a stairway and a glass elevator. It has an open-floor plan, including five bedrooms that all have terraces, eight bathrooms, a state-of-art kitchen, a movie theater, a home office and a staff wing.
The master suite boasts a suspended plunge pool from the terrace that can accommodate up to eight people, in addition to an 80-foot pool in the backyard. There is a three-car garage and a 2,500-square-foot rooftop lounge with panoramic views of both the ocean and the Miami skyline.
The home is furnished by Italian furniture brand Minotti and decorated with over $2 million worth of carefully curated art works and sculptures. The furniture, artworks and sculptures are not included in the asking price, according to Dina Goldentayer of Douglas Elliman, who is handling the listing.
“The contemporary-style geometric house is breathtaking and overpowering,” Ms. Goldentayer said.
Located halfway from Miami Beach and downtown Miami, the home is one of the most expensive listings on Venetian Islands.
Currently, the most expensive listing in the area is a home on the same street, which is asking just under $20 million, according to Ms. Goldentayer and the Multiple Listing Service.
