There’s a new sculpture outside of Baldwin Elementary, thanks to the Moorman Foundation and Arts Quincy.
Representing a flyer, Laura Sievert with Arts Quincy said an artist from South Carolina built the sculpture.
They said it’s made up of hand prints of all the students in the first class at the brand new elementary school.
It’s something Sievert said makes the sculpture even more special.
“The Mormon Foundation and Arts Quincy really partnered on this to celebrate education,” Sievert said. “Quincy has made a historic investment in education and each school has a theme and wanted to be represented. Hopefully it’s something we can take photos of our kids by for years to come.”
Sievert said next they’re planning to put sculptures in at Quincy Notre Dame and Rooney Elementary in the spring.
